The QS Show&Tell is an informal meeting where people involved in a wide-variety of self-tracking projects come to share their tools and methods. The format is simple. We do a speed intro (at the first meeting this was five words; by the third, with more than fifty people, it was down to three words), and then anybody who wants to present, presents. There is usually a sign up sheet hanging in the room somewhere. Pool Heaters presentations are 5-10 minutes long, and there are a few minutes of questions afterward. We move the meetings around so they will be fun and accessible to people in different parts of the Bay Area. We've had one meeting at QS co-host Kevin Kelly's home office in Pacifica, California; one meeting at The Institute for the Future, in Palo Alto; and one meeting at the San Francisco office of the design firm IDEO, on the waterfront in SF.
This leads to an obvious question: what if you don't live in the Bay Area? We'd like to invite QS readers to start QS Show&Tell in their own cities. Add a location and potential date below, with contact information to signal your interest. Planning can occur here and off-line. The Bay Area Show&Tell is organized through this MeetUp page.
